Followed instructions - both autofill preferences are now false-but autofill continues to work. Help!
Problem solved but some mystery remains. I used location bar settings to suggest "nothing" as far as history and bookmarks were concerned. It worked. But I already had "do not remember history" in the privacy settings. Perhaps this needs a fix?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
