Changed recovery key by mistake!!!

Posted

I changed my recovery key by mistake and all the things are gone. I have the old key but it doesn't accept the old key. How can I use the old key to sync my firefox?

hello onursezr, unfortunately you'll need all the three components (username, password & the current recovery key) to recover the data from your firefox sync account. there's no way around that - all your data is encrypted with this information and cannot even be accessed otherwise (not even by mozilla)...

All data stored on the sync server is removed if you generate a new sync key and can't be recovered.
The sync key is (only) used locally to encrypt the data before it is send to the server.

If you generated a new sync key then you will have to start anew with storing data on the sync server.
