My expecthat there would be no ads, vulgar picture ads, when viewing web sites. How do I remedy this? Thank you.

Posted

I opened the web site to a local newspaper and there was a ad, with a all hanging out lady and I am seeing this and so is my 9 and 6 year old. Someone who I know that uses Firefox told me he doesn't deal with the ads. So we are now trying out Firefox upon his recommendation but I am not sure what to do to eliminate ads.

You should not be getting any ads using Firefox unless the website specifically put the ads on there. You can scan your computer for malware and get an addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-edge/?src=ss

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Problem solved. Used two of the malware programs that were recommended, malwareBytes and TDSS killer, the malwarebytes found 23 three problems and the TDSS which I used first didn't scan any problems, not sure why the difference.
