In some places I see Firefox referred to as Firefox 5, but on my computer I have firefox 18.1. I have Windows Vista.

TonyE 3 months ago Firefox 5 and Firefox 18.0.1 are different. The confusion may be with the first part of the user agent string. Your user agent string is:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0
The Mozilla/5.0 has been included in user agent strings for a long time and will be seen in the user agent string of many different browsers including Chrome and Internet Explorer. That part of the user agent string was used to indicate compatibility with the Mozilla rendering engine.

James 3 months ago Firefox 18.0.1... ;)
I agree that the Firefox 5 reference may have been incorrectly referring to the Mozilla/5.0 on beginning of useragent. The Firefox 5.0 release is old as it was released back on June 21, 2011.

Tylerdowner 3 months ago Firefox 18.0.1 is the latest version. In February we will release Firefox 19, and you'll want to update to that. Just enable automatic updates in Firefox and you'll always stay on the latest and greatest :)
