I can remember a check off box to delete all cookies and temp files on termination of each session. I can't find it any longer - where did it go? I can't believe you have to manually delete files to keep the crap off the computer now. Running 17.0.1. for windows xp home.

cor-el 4 months ago See:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" >: [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
If you use Clear Recent History to clear the cache on exit then Firefox doesn't use the disk cache at all as the about:cache page and "Preferences/Options > Advanced > Network" shows (no entry for the disk cache usage).
That doesn't mean that is disk cache is empty or cleared, it is only disabled and can still contain data.
You can only clear the disk cache in Firefox by disabling CRH in that case. -
skippyp 4 months ago Thanks much. I would not likely have found that sub-window, and the fashion that the options toggle and grey doesn't make much sense to me either, but I finally found a combination that does what I want. Ahh, for the days when Firefox was a simple construct......
