Any link I click on opens a new tab. I want them to open in the same tab

You need to check your mouse or mouse settings because if you click on a link with middle mouse it would open a new tab, if you checked your hardware and settings but the problem still the same, go to:
Tools > Options > Tabs > Open links that open in a new window and change the option to new window. If you have the Tab Mix Plus addon installed then Tools > Tab Mix Plus options > Links.
