opened the pop up password recovery window and it said not responding and when started responding all my passwords from the laptop and desktop were gone

I opened the options>>security>>saved passwords pop up and clicked on show passwords and it said *not responding* for a bit and when it started responding my 100+ passwords and user names were all gone and the window was totally clear....any idea how to recover all those passwords?

Did you try to close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer?

Yes I did...many times..I also went ahead and updated the Flash but no luck... One thing is that the firefox passwords on my other computer have disappeared as well so I can't even sync this one to get the passwords back. Any other ideas!??

Did you mean Windows password recovery? I think you need to recover lost password here: http://www.recoverlostpassword.com

Nop...no windows password...I meant the passwords saved by Firefox have disappeared from my both computers...the laptop and the desktop....... even if I can recover my laptops I will be fine(sync)..... Any way to recover those??

You need a backup copy or previous versions of the key3.db and signons.sqlite files to restore the passwords stored via the Password Manager.

Ok I got those links...what now?? I found the profile as well.....is there an easy way to recover passwords or?? just for your info...there was no previous versions and I have been usinmg firefox forever...........
