Posted

I am running Windows 8 with IE10 on my new laptop. I downloaded Setup 17.0.1 successfully it seems, but when I click on it, it doesn't go anywhere. Please help.

Try to disable your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes installing Firefox work.

You may need to re-download Firefox from the Mozilla server.

You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

I want to download Firefox as a browser. I clicked on the download button and the Setup 17.0.1 file downloaded OK. I click on it to open it and it goes nowhere. Does that explain my issue better?

Thank you cor-el...your suggestion worked. I deleted the setup file I had, disabled my anti-virus software and re-downloaded the setup file which proceeded on it's own and downloaded the Firefox browser. I am up and running and bless you for solving my frustrating problem. Hope you have a happy holiday.

I don't have the Firefox browser. I only have the setup file that I would think would set up the Firefox browser. If you are suggesting that I go to the "Help" on the browser, please understand that I don't have the browser yet...that is what I am trying to get.
