Bookmarks won't delete per your instructions
I followed the instructions below and it doesn't work. I can delete individual sites in a folder but I can't delete it folder. It sits there empty. This is laborious in incomplete. What can be done to fix this? I use Firefox 16.0.2

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Go to the page in your bookmarks that you want to remove.
Click on the star icon in the Location bar. The Edit This Bookmark box will be shown.

In the Edit This Bookmark box, click Remove Bookmark.

Deleting more than one bookmark or folder
On the menu bar, click Bookmarks and select Show All Bookmarks to open the Library window.
In the left pane, click on the folder you want to view. Its contents will appear in the right pane.
In the right pane, click to select the item(s) you want to delete.

Right-click the folder name and choose Delete. You can do this in either pane (left or right).
You might want to make a backup first. You can use the Backup... option or the Export to HTML option. (The Backup... option is more complete because it stores tags and some other additional information, but it is trickier to restore from the backup format without losing new bookmarks you may have added.)
- Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
- Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks

Thank you for your help. I've bookmarked the information above. The "delete" option showed up today and I was successful in deleting the folder.
