Just a note on TITLE Bar missing.

I recently had a problem with (title bar missing), I think that was with Version 19. As of version 20.0.1 there have been no problems the Title bar has not disappeared.

It was never full screen mode.

Your Firefox might be stuck in full screen mode. You can use the F11 function key to switch between full screen and normal display modes. If you do not have an F11 key, sliding the mouse pointer to the top of the screen and right-clicking should display a short menu to exit full screen mode.

Is that it?

Can you open the system menu via Alt+ Space?

If that works then see if you can un-maximize and resize the window.

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

This can happen if you run Firefox in full screen mode: press F11 to toggle.

If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
Click the Maximize button (top right corner of the Navigation Toolbar) to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.

You can also check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.

Question owner

I never use full screen.

What I did was -- View > Toolbars > Menu

turned off/on I've done this many times before without success that's all I did and it has work every since??? don't care why?

I'm back, from IE9 and Google Chrome. I guess, I've been using FF too long. I loaded up my add-ons and have been using it all day and did not lose the Title bar once.

Now, the title bar will not appear on my browsers.

It's the same problem I've been having in both version 17 and now v18.

I can't give you a screen shot right now because everything is fine. I given them in previous posts.

No title bar, top line is the menu, it's not full screen mode (I would not see the menu in full screen mode).

Did you try Safe mode?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

happyhannah31,

That's not Fullscreen mode, with the Location bar and the Bookmarks Toolbar showing. Depending upon your operating system the titlebar disappears when the browser window is Maximized. A full-width screenshot would be nice to see.
