Firefox bookmarks always worked until today. Yesterday I synced with a new Android mobile and my bookmarks have been messed up on both PC and mobile.

I synced my PC with a new Android mobile yesterday. Today on my PC some of my bookmarks have vanished but I have found them hidden under Bookmarks (top line along with File, Edit etc) then in the drop-down menu in Bookmarks Toolbar not under the toolbar itself.

However many folders are repeated although many (maybe all) the duplicates are empty. Inside the folders many sites are also repeated.

Is there any way I can get my old Bookmarks back again without all the duplications, preferably sharing it with the mobile? (That's cell phone in American).

PC has Firefox 16.0.2, mobile only added yesterday (not sure of version), the phone is a Samsung Galaxy SIII with Android 4.1.1
