It is a known issue with JellyBean 4.2 and Firefox 16. It will be resolved on Tuesday with the release of Firefox 17.

This is currently fixed on Mozilla Firefox Beta on Google Play, and as mentioned will be fixed in Firefox 17 which will be released next week.

Just wanted to note that I have both Firefox Beta (17.0) and Firefox (16.0.2) for Android installed on my Nexus Seven, and both "crash" after approximately 30 seconds of use. In this case, "crash" is defined as "exit back to the home screen, no error messages, and when you restart them there is no indication that you've ever run it before".

I have tried force closing, clearing data, and uninstall/reinstall of Firefox, and it still exits very consistently about a half minute after I start it.

Thanks in advance for anything you can do.

Firefox Beta which was uploaded to the store today will also solve this issue.

That did it! Thanks. The new Beta was not showing up in the Play Store, but a few "view details", "back out" cycles made it appear. Firefox seems rock solid once again.

Thank goodness, no more Chrome for Android!  :)

Firefox stable only crashes on sites that use Flash plugin, at least is what I've checked. (Nexus 7, Android 4.2)

Is there a bug for a fix on the stable release?

OK, found:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=802510

It will be fixed in Firefox 17, which will be released on November 20th.

donturn, are you using Firefox 18.0 on Android 4.2 to say is is not fixed?

Edit: ok I see you are indeed referring to mobile Firefox 18.0 on 4.2.1 as per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/948600

Yes, it's whatever the current build is from the Google Play store.

More interesting, I can't even *uninstall* firefox. It crashes and reboots the Nexus 10. Even a remote uninstall from the Google Play store crashes and reboots.

I have Nexus 7 and Firefox is working here. You should be having another issue.

Maybe it's just trouble on a Nexus 10, but good to know it's not a universal problem.
