Firefox 9 keeps updating Firefox 13 despite trying many ways to prevent this from happening
Hello,
I need to use Firefox 9 for certain things as the newer versions of Firefox are not being supported by some of the applications I use. However, Firefox 9 keeps updating to Firefox 13 after I've logged off for the day. When I come back the next day, it updates to Firefox 13. I changed the options in the tools -> Options -> Update section. I've asked it not to automatically check or update Firefox. That didn't seem to work. I have also deleted "updater.exe", "update.ini" and any other update like app in the Mozilla folder in C drive -> Program Files -> Mozilla FireFox. I deleted any other previous users on the pc.
I also followed the instructions located in these links below:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Updates%20reported%20when%20running%20newest%20version
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/mozilla.support.firefox/_Ehiz6sM5SM
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Updates_reported_when_running_newest_version
It still updates to Firefox 13. I have to reinstall firefox 9 everyday and It's getting annoying.
I'm not sure what's going on. Please help!
Thanks in advance.

More Information
hello, are there other user active accounts working on this computer? i'd recommend keeping your main installed version up-to-date and to use a portable version of firefox 9 for your application that you can lock down and prevent from getting updated...

thanks for your response! I deleted the other active accounts. Prior to deleting them, I deleted the Mozilla folders on those accounts. After that, I deleted the accounts. I'll try the portable edition. Thanks a lot!
