Can't install security updates because mobile bar jiggles when starting to check and doesn't move forward
When Firefox notifies me of the need to install security updates, I am unable to install them. When I click "install", the blue bar appears, but stands in place while jiggling and doesn't install, no matter how long I wait. There is no notice that the installation has failed, it just doesn't happen.

Question owner
I downloaded successfully, but there was no prompt after that. I don't know which version of firefox I already have, but whichever one it is, it is in my applications folder and on my dock. If there is no prompt, what should I do, and how do I find out which version I have?
You have to install it, follow the directions at Install Firefox on Mac. then, after that, read Find what version of Firefox you are using
Question owner
The Firefox version I have is 7.1. I will try again, but yesterday, no matter what I did, there was no prompt enabling me to move it into an applicatios file.
