What happened to the orange bar at the top right-hand corner of the browser that consolidated many menu functions. It looks rather different from the 4.0 that I installed on my laptop last month! I want the orange bar!
I recently updated my desktop to Firefox 4, but it's now showing the same graphic display that it did when I updated it on my laptop. The orange menu bar at the top-left isn't showing. Do I need to get rid of all my extensions and start from scratch, or is that unnecessary? I really want it to look and behave as it does on my laptop which I upgraded to 4.0 about a month ago. Any suggestions?>

You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden, so you need to hide the Menu bar via View > Toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.
You can place the Tab Bar on top if you like.
- View > Toolbars : [ ] Menu Bar
- View > Toolbars : [X] Tabs on Top
I think you misunderstood. I WANT the orange bar back. The "menu bar" is already deactivated.
If the menu bar is hidden then you should see the orange Firefox menu button.
You can try:
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
