Have you seen How to fix the Update Failed error message when updating Firefox

Are you using a different browser at present and trying to install firefox for the first time see Install Firefox on Windows

• are you using an Administrative account (not a limited account) on XP ?
• What is the browser you are using ?
• Are you normally able to download files ?
• What error messages do you see ?

I'm not using a limitid account My browser at the moment is explorer I've been able to download files like music, the only problem is to download software as in programs like mozilla. I do not see any error messages

• What stops at 99% ?
• Are you able to download the file ok ?
• ( Try to save the file; before trying to run the file)
• Are you able to find the downloaded file on your computer
• The file will be called Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe
• What is the site / url you use for the download ?
