Javascript not working properly
When i visit websites which use JavaScript pop-up windows to display content, if i click on a link, the window will not pop up. The same sites works fine on IE though.
I reinstalled FF no luck. I also notice that the Google search bar at the top of the window does not work, neither pressing enter or clicking the search icon.
Any ideas?

by winger20716Is the Popup blocker blocking the windows from coming up? You can added exceptions to allow window popups from certain sites.
Additional tool bars also have window Popup blockers included in them. You might want to try and disable them to allow the popups to occur.

My javascript problem goes farther. Sometimes when I click a link that uses it, it kills all my menus - bookmarks, tools, right click, etc. They open blank. The only fix I've found is to open task manager and kill the FF process.
Which is another problem. Exiting FF entirely can ONLY be done by using the task manager. file>exit always leaves the process running.

Hello, I have a similar problem. Each time Java goes through an update, it seems to install a new plug in, and then all my problems begin--JavaScript links won't work; Firefox won't close properly; etc. In the past I was able to troubleshoot by disabling the plug in, but for some reason that's not working now. I'm using Windows Vista, FF 3.6.13, and the Java 6, update 23.

See "Hang at exit":
Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Not sure it this is the same, but it's driving me batty. I have tried so many things too. Uninstall, disable plugins, etc.
If a popup window is opened in the backend of Joomla to edit something inside a component the save, cancel, etc don't work. Using a share on Facebook is broken too, but may or may not post on Facebook. It's a crap shoot. If I disable a addon and restart the browser I get multiple instances/windows opening up. The original windows with the tabs and a few blank ones.
It is consistent on more than one computer. I thought it was xmarks, because I disabled that and it stopped. Then when trying a new addon it started again. Driving me nuts and I can't use another browser because I use all the developer tools.
Update: it does not seem to happen in safe mode. Now Firebug is causing the problem too. Disabling both xmarks and firebug fixes it. Figures the 2 of the most important addons are unusable.

having this problem (Vista and Firefox 7) with showcase video where clicking SHOWS did nothing. I found the Addon ADBLOCK PLUS was causing this not to work, and specifically, under 'My Ad Blocking Rules', google-analytics.com Unchecked this and the SHOWS link works again. see http://www.showcase.ca/video/#video So look for something similar if you're having this problem.
