Can't remove proxy settings
I've already tried going to tools, options, advanced, network and "No proxy" was already selected. But when I go to Pubmed for example, my proxy is still saved and I am prompted for a username and password and can't get to the website.

More Information
I had this problem. One workaround is to open firefox in safe mode. Before it starts it gives you an option to reset all user prefers to defaults. That finally got rid of the proxy setting.
This is a security issue, can someone please answer this. Firefox will default back to the proxy even after disabling from settings. This is with Firefox 4.x
This needs an answer. How to remove proxy settings and all things that can change the proxy on start up of Firefox.
