Firefox highlights all links in pink with dotted borders, how do I make it stop doing this?

Firefox highlights all links on web pages in pink with a dotted border. Sometimes the links are not highlighted when I first visit a new site, but after a few clicks then Firefox highlights all of them everywhere and it often makes the navigation difficult to read with all the pink boxes everywhere. How can I make Firefox stop doing this?

If the background of links is red then that is probably caused by an extension like SEO or SearchStatus that has the option set to highlight noFollow links.
You can check the options of such an extension.
You can click the icon on the Status bar to open the SearchStatus options and un-tick "Highlight NoFollow Links"
