I use Thunderbird as main email client on PC, I also access via iPAD email

On iPAD if I get a Calendar invite (eg Teams) I can scroll to bottom of the invite, and there is an option to add ICS file to Calendar. I click on it and it pushes the invite to Google Calendar, and it inserts the correct appointment.

However on my main device (W11 PC) Thunderbird does not show any ICS file. There is a banner that say "This message contains event information. Enable a Calendar to Handle it" Can it be configured to use Google Calendar as the linked Calendar ? If so, could someone explain to me how to do this.

Is there a font setting to change JUST the font size (event title field) that is displayed on the TB Calendar monthly grid view. Was able to change overall size in TB, but did not really want same change on mail views? Perhaps a specific TB setting (or userchrome command)?

Yes, I did see the question on Calendar Event font size changes, but not applicable to this as I read it...

subj line says it: current new mail is coming in - some 147 older mails in yahoo inbox are not seen by t/bird. I can't find anything obvious. New tbird release 140.0.1. It is correct, there are no NEW emails - how to get older ones?

I just observed a new issue with S/MIME. When trying to send an encrypted mail to somebody new, I get an error “End-to-end encryption requires resolving certificate issues with somebody@example.com”.

The message is not very helpful, and doesn’t propose any solution. So a web search gave me this article: Prerequisite for sending an encrypted email message. It states:

> If Thunderbird considers the email's signature and the sender's certificate valid, it will automatically be imported and available when you attempt to encrypt an email to that correspondent using the S/MIME technology.

When I open the sender’s mail, the signature is confirmed as valid by Thunderbird.

Ignoring the warning message and trying to send the encrypted mail results in the following error in the log: `mailnews.send: NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE: Component returned failure code: 0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE) [nsIMsgComposeSecure.beginCryptoEncapsulation]`

So, I verified in my list of certificates for people, and that new person didn’t figure in the list. Other people did, the last one from 6 June.

Is it possible there’s a bug causing TB to not import the certificate when I open the mail? What would a workaround be? Is there a way to import a sender’s certificate manually from their signed mail?

I was forced to erase my PC because it was infected with malware. I saved my Tbird profile to my HDD before erasing. I pasted the saved profile to %Appdata% >Thunderbird, copying 1,777 items. When I brought up Tbird, I got the Account Setup window, so I don't think the profile was actually there. What did I do wrong?

When I change a setting in TB it doesn't save it and reverts to old settings on restart. There is no "Save" button on the settings screen. I have looked for the Prefs.js file in the Profile folder to see if it's read only but it doesn't exist. I have checked that hidden files are not hidden in the explorer view setting. I have searched my entire c drive for prefs.js and the only ones there are in the Firefox profile folder. I have looked for any .js, .json files that resemble anything to do with preferences or configurations and see none. All the advice I can find on Google has been exhausted. Help!!

How is this supposed to work? I am hoping to have a couple of folders from my IMAP configured email account automatically synchronized to LOCAL FOLDERS. But under the 'Synchronization' tab there are not a lot of options, and really only a 'download' button. But does that really synchronize? prevent duplicates? Someone smarter than me, please advise? I forgot and can't find my primary password. I can't reset and remove it unless I know it. I uninstalled the program, paid a contribution, reinstalled and still cannot reset, remove old, or make new password. Can't get into to send emails, but can see and read files.

Thunderbird quit receiving messages June 25th and quit copying messages to the sent folder at the same time. Are they connected somehow?

I have checked my settings and they are all the same as they were before this happened and are correct.

When I click on "Get Messages" these five quick messages appear in rapid succession:

Looking for imap.pldi.net Looked for imap.pldi.net Connecting to imap.pldi.net Connected to imap.pldi.net Checking email server capabilities

then goes away and no messages received.

Regarding copying messages to drafts I get this with each message I send.

"Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your Sent Folder due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent (my email address)" with buttons "Retry" "Save" "Don't Save."

The message remains on the screen until I click "Save" and the message goes away.

I believe all of this happened with the last Thunderbird update, but I'm not real sure.

Since the Thunderbird 140.0.1esr release, my Archive button is randomly not working. With a message selected that I want to archive, either clicking on the Archive Button on the message or in the list view right-clicking and selecting the Archive button from the options menu does not result in anything. It appears that the button is depressed, but nothing happens. If I close out of Thunderbird and immediately restart it, the Archive button starts working again for a time until later when it stops functioning again. I never had this problem with previous instances of Thunderbird before, so I'm wondering if something became broken with this latest release. I'm happy to provide additional information if needed to help troubleshoot why this is going on. I'm running Windows 11 24H2 64bit and am not having issues with any other button in Thunderbird not working. Just Archive. Have also tried it on multiple email accounts. Same problem with all of them when the button is not working.

Hello. I am trying to use Thunderbird to access my Matrix chat rooms. This page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-matrix-chat-faq says to Add a Chat Account in Account Actions and select Matrix in the Chat Account Wizard. However Matrix doesn't appear in the list of chat networks in the Wizard dialogue. What can I do?

I am using version 68.12.1 of Thunderbird.

My inbox was inadvertently moved down in the list of folders and I am not able to drag and drop it back to the top. It looks like there used to be a "Manually sort folders" extension but it no longer works. Is there a way to reorder folders manually? I use 140.0.1esr (64-bit).

All our emails are on IMAP so should keep a copy on the server like outlook which does. Yet today all our emails for all email addresses are missing. We have had our server people go back and restore emails back to the 15th when we know they were there, but they are still missing. In the accounts email there were over 120 emails now all gone. Can you help with a solution as to why thunderbird has done this. Its weird email accounts for emails back and forth to say surecalltelecoms are still there, but all emails for ours marketbowl.in have gone missing.

We asked the server provider and they checked the datacentre, no fault logs, no errors so for some reason its thunderbird. All settings are correct same as surecall, yet all emails are missing for ours.

Bonjour, je ne comprend pas pourquoi lorsque j’envoie un mail d'une adresse quelconque, ce dernier est enregistré directement dans ma boite Gmail alors que les 2 adresses n'ont aucun lien au départ. De plus cela sature mon espace gmail Merci de me dire ce qu'il faut changer dans les paramètres de Thunderbird pour cesser cette synchronisation. Cordialement

why is everything going to trash in thunderer but not in Comcast.net email what do i do o i eed to reinstall it and uninstall it

Ho effettuato un backup con la procedura guidata ma il file è più grande di 2Gb. Ha creato il file zip ma quando provo a dezipparlo per importare le cartelle dice che potrebbe essere corrotto. C'è un modo per recuperare il profilo? Grazie
