My computer had a system restore after a storm shut my computer off after being frozen. No other issues are going on other than when I try to use the search bar, nothing happens. If I use the drop down box in the search bar, the only options I get are Add "Firefox Help", and Manage search engines. If I click on manage search engines, usually I get a list of options, google, yahoo, etc, but it is completely empty and restore defaults is grayed out.

Per other suggestions on this forum, I have upgraded to the latest firefox version, I have also downloaded the serachreset addon which didn't help. Also, there was another post on deleting the formhistory.sqlite file under my profiles, however, when I went to try this, there was no such file for me. (from this website's instructions http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_search_or_add_new_engines)

Please help as I don't want to have to delete the entire program just to find that upon reinstall, I don't have a fix.

I am running Firefox 19.0.2 on Windows XP (SP3). As a part of my KASPERSKY INTERNET Security 2013 the following add-ons (all version 13.0.1.4250) are installed (a) Kaspersky URL Advisor (b) Content Blocker (c) Safe money and (d) Virtual keyboard . They were all enabled and active when the KIS was installed on 17-2-2013 but a subsequent update of Firefox has disabled them all. I want that Firefox should update itself only if all the existing add-ons are compatible with it, else the existing version should continue unchanged. How do I achieve this? What is the last version of Firefox that is compatible with these add-ons?

I don't understand why I always get this error message that says "This content is no longer available" with the following information: "The content you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page."

This only happens when I open or refresh facebook or mafiawars in Firefox or Waterfox, The other browsers on my computer have not had this problem which leads me to believe that it's Firefox.

Please inform me of how to correct this annoying message.

I tried reset, reinstall, different drivers and Flash versions, reinstall Windows. Same problem at another computer. Windows 7, x64. The issue also happens when disabling flash sandbox and with a new profile.

Hi, I am developing an internal website. Today I downloaded Firefox 21 (FF21) and installed it. When I loaded up the internal website the default page (default.cshtml) load properly but the first of 4 cascading dropdown boxes does not populate.

This website is hosted on a Win 2008 R2 server running IIS7.5 and the lates asp and .net frameworks. I am able to use the website without any problems in IE9.

On my development machine a local version of the same website opens and populates correctly in FF21, the local website is localhost served by webmatrix on IIS express (my machine is win 7 Entreprise 64 bit).

What is happening and how can I sort this out. Thanks.

When Firefox opens swedish PDF-documents there become blanks where the letters å, ä and ö should be. Very annoing and now I have to open PDF-documents in another program. Can this be fixed? Is there an update that supports more languages or can I choose something in the options that I've missed?

I downloaded the latest version of Mozilla Firefox 2-3 weeks ago and google analytics account, which formerly would work with the previous version of Mozilla Firefox that I had installed, will no longer load. What is the problem causing this and how can I fix it?

Sometimes when we type in text or numbers Firefox displays it backwards such that if I type in 12345 it is displayed as 54321. That can be critical if you are entering a username and/or password and especially for site that allow only a limited number of attempts (such as an on line banking account). We currently use FF 21.0, on Windows XP Pro Sp3, Windows Vista Business and Ubuntu 12.10 and it happens on all of these. To temporarily resolve the problem we usually have to close and restart Firefox but not the OS. This does not happen with any other software that we use.

Firefox 20 and Thunderbird both stopped connecting to the Internet. I have gone through all the steps shown on this site as well as others:

1) Norton was getting error messages: Unauthorized access blocks (Access Process Data) for each bookmark linked clicked. The target was Siber Roboform. 2) I ran a Norton complete scan in Safe mode with no problems 3) I uninstalled Norton IS 4) I ran a Windows scan on connect.dll in registry - no problems 5) I activated Windows Firewall and added Firefox and Thunderbird to the accepted programs

Nothing works. Other programs can access the Internet from the computer and my other computer configured the same works fine.

This question was posted from a computer with connectivity - any information about the internal workings will show a computer that is working, not the nonworking one.

Where do I go next?

I activated the click-to-play plugins option in about:config, but unintentionally clicked the "never load for this site" option on one website. I actually want to always load plugins from this site. But now I cannot find how to change for that site.

The location bar does not display a plugin icon when I visit (even though I know that the page I'm visiting includes plugins).

In about:permissions, my plugin settings for 'all sites' and for that specific site are both set to 'always ask', but it doesn't do so.

How can I reactivate plugins for this site, without turning off the click-to-load plugins option? (ftr, I tested this and all plugins loaded correctly if that option is disabled)

Recently got a touchscreen pc,great. firefox keeps going into a text page when I go between ebay and gmail/fb. I do reset it but this does`nt solve the problem. I have no idea about pcs so it will have to be simple! ,thanks.

When I go to FF home page an update screen opens up for Express Files Updater, requesting me to update. Is this part of FF / Mozilla and should I update? Thank you for help.

On my Macbook Pro (my OS is OS X 10.6.8), sometimes when I click on a download link, and then click Cancel (meaning I did NOT start the download at all), a .part file appears in my Downloads folder.

However, not all download links cause this problem to happen. Download links for things like MP3s and JPGs rarely cause this to happen, but download links for xls or torrent files will most likely cause this problem.

I've tested it. When I click on a download link for an MP3 file, but didn't click OK or CANCEL, a .part file would appear in my Downloads folder. However, when I hit CANCEL, the .part file goes away.

But when I tried this on a download link for a XLS file, the .part file stays there even after I hit CANCEL. To delete it, I had to drag it to the Trash folder myself and then empty the trash.

So is this a bug? Am I infected with a virus? Does your Mozilla Firefox create a .part file when you click on a download link but not confirm whether you want to download the file? Does the .part file go away after you hit CANCEL?

I noticed that as of today, every now and then, a drop down commercial ad (with voice) appears on my FF browser screen. This has never happened before. I've run a Windows Defender, and Microsoft Safety Scan. The problem continues.
