For Android version 4 and above, themenu item was removed from Firefox to meet Google's application guidelines.
Note: You can still close Firefox or any other app from the app switch screen by using the app switching button . If you do not see the above button, long press the home button to bring up app switch screen.
How to add the Quit menu item back using a Firefox for Android add-on
Here's how to install an add-on to bring back themenu item so you can close Firefox.
- Tap the button (on some devices this is along the bottom edge of the device, on others it is a software menu on the top right) , then tap and tap .
- Tap the
icon in the upper-right of the Add-ons screen. Alternatively you could go directly to https://addons.mozilla.org/android/ to achieve the same result.
- Search for quitnow.
- Tap the search result.

- In the new displayed menu, tap to install the QuitNow add-on.
Your Firefox menu will now have amenu item that allows you to exit Firefox for Android.
